Chemical peels can be used to treat skin for anti-aging, acne, redness, or texture issues. The aestheticians at Midsota will consult with you and decide what peel is correct for your individual needs. Preparing for a peel and learning the post treatment steps will also be discussed to ensure you the best outcome.
Not every peel will cause some degree of flaking or peeling or of redness post procedure. The degree of flaking and redness is dependent upon the acid strength and type. The day after a procedure, skin tightness may be felt. During the next 7 to 14 days, flaking and/or peeling could occur. If flaking or peeling is not experienced that doesn’t mean that optimal results will not be achieved.
All peels will create sensitivity to heat and sun for several days post peel and it is critical to the success of the peel that you comply with post procedure care requirements.
The chemoexfoliation procedure should take approximately 20 minutes depending on the type of peel and number of layers applied. During the procedure, it is possible to experience a mild or moderate tingling, itching, or burning sensation. These are completely normal and are only temporary. Upon neutralization, these signs should stop and if post care procedure are followed properly, the benefits of the peel will be experienced.
