About Midsota Surgical Suites

When it comes to plastic surgery, we especially appreciate a patient's sensitivity and need for privacy. We go to great lengths to assure that our patients are as comfortable as possible both physically and emotionally.

At Midsota Surgical Suites we exclusively perform plastic surgery procedures. This enables us to introduce the newest technologies, making it available to our patients as soon as it is available. Our two operating rooms are Medicare certified and are the most advanced, state-of-the-art, fully monitored facilities around. Patient safety is always at the core of everything we do.

Our convenient location and layout of the surgical facility was all designed with our patients' safety, comfort, privacy and care in mind. And our highly skilled staff helps makes it all happen.

Safety, privacy and comfort. This is what Midsota plastic surgeons, staff and Surgical Suites are all about.

What to Expect Before Your Surgery
A staff member from Midsota Surgical Suites will call you before your surgery to confirm your arrival time, review any special instructions and answer any questions you may have. If we have not contacted you by 2:00 p.m. the day before your surgery pleas call 320-253-7257 or toll-free at 1-888-MIDSOTA. If your surgery is scheduled for Monday, we will call you on Friday.

It is important that you do not eat or drink before your surgery. DO NOT have anything to eat or drink after midnight the night before your surgery. Alert your doctor if you ar taking any blood thinners including aspirin. You may be asked to discontinue the use of these up to two weeks prior to your surgery. You should discontinue the use of any herbal, natural preparations or mega vitamin supplements two weeks prior to your surgery as they may interact with medications used for your surgery. Do not consumer any alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to your arrival. Do not smoke or chew gum after midnight.

For your safety, you must have a responsible driver to take you home after your surgery. Public transportation will not be permitted. Arrange for a responsible person to stay with you for at least the first night following your surgery. You may want to consider arranging care for your small children for the first 24 hours after your surgery.

What to Expect the Day of Your Surgery
Please arrive promptly at your scheduled time. You may check in at the reception desk. A nurse will accompany you through the admission process and you will change into a surgical gown. Your privacy and comfort are very important to us and will be respected at all times.

You will meet with anesthesia personnel to discuss and plan your anesthesia management. You will need to sign a consent form for your surgery and anesthesia. If the patient is a minor or dependent adult, this form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. We require that at least one parent or legal guardian remain at Midsota Surgical Suites throughout the surgery and recovery for any patient under 18 years of age or for a dependent adult.

To prepare for your surgery, please:
  • Notify your surgeon and Midsota Surgical Suites if you have a cold, flu or high temperature the day before your surgery or if you suspect you may be pregnant
  • Bring your insurance information with you on the day of your surgery, including cards with addresses and Medicare or Medical Assistance information
  • Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and shoes and remove all make-up, nail polish, and jewelry
  • If you wear contact lenses, bring your contact supplies
  • Do not bring any valuables or money
What to Expect After Surgery
After your surgery, you will be taken to the post anesthesia care unit where you will be closely monitored by our nursing staff.

After you awaken and are stable, you will be taken to a private room where you will rest in a comfortable recliner and the nurse will give you something to drink and/or eat. Your family may rejoin you at this time.

It is desirable to have a family member or friend stay at the facility during your surgery. Your surgeon will make every effort to meet with this person after your surgery. Children and dependent adults must have a parent, legal guardian, or other custodian in the facility at all times.

Most patients are discharged one to three hours after surgery, however our staff will determine this for each individual patient. The nursing staff will provide you with both verbal and written instructions regarding your surgery, anesthesia and how to take care of yourself at home. You may feel lightheaded and sleepy after your surgery for the first 12 to 24 hours-this is perfectly normal.

A nurse will call you at home after your surgery to check on your progress and answer any questions you may have.

Midsota Surgical Suites is owned and operated by Midsota Plastic Surgeons. Financial ownership of SCSC is under individual physician ownership
