Liposuction
Liposuction addresses specific, unwanted fatty deposits that result in bulges or fullness that won’t respond to weight loss. It treats focal figure flaws by softening fullness to improve contours of specific areas. The skin in the area treated should be in good condition to obtain the best result. Sometimes procedures for skin removal, such as a tummy tuck, are combined with liposuction to address skin excess or laxity. Liposuction may be chosen for a variety of locations around the body including the neck, torso and extremities, depending on an individual’s needs. Liposuction is also called lipoplasty or suction lipectomy, or may also be known by the surgical instrumentation such as “ultrasound assisted suction lipectomy” or “power assisted suction lipectomy.”
